Is Your In-Box Attracting or Detracting Your Desires?

By Catherine Franz

E-mails come in, some go out, and some sit for future action.  Two days pass, ten emails wait future action.  Another two days go by and the number is now twenty.  A week later, the number doubled.  You wonder if a rabbit is mating inside your computer.  People are phoning you, “Did you get my e-mail about X?”

Is there a better way?

Yes, heaven’s sake, yes.

You delete the emails with time sensitive information, now expired.  You punch the delete key with a feeling of sadness of what could have been.  Yet, in a guilty way it feels good, the list is getting shorter.

One by one, you tackle the next and then the next.  In one e-mail, you click to read more on a web page.  Another is one of your favorite e-newsletters.  Another sparks your writing and you begin to outline an Internet article either in your mind or on paper.

Before you know it, a few hours flew by.  What you intended to accomplish didn’t happen.  It still lingers on your list.  Now you have to stay late.  Or maybe you feel pressured to work through lunch and grudgingly write an e-mail to your buddy saying you can’t make lunch today – for the fourth time.

You feel a tightening in your stomach.  Your inner dialogue is irritated and giving you its intrusive feedback.  You unsubscribe from something, anything that is in front of you, it doesn’t matter what.  Nonetheless, there remain more e-mails needing your attention.  You give up with a promise to return soon and return to working on your project.

Emails come in, you delete some, you answer some, and you let some sit for a future review.  Doesn’t it seem like you’ve been here before.  Wait.  You have.  The cycle continues.

Is this affecting what you attract in your life?  Come on, you know the answer.  You know it is.  What can you do about it?  Emails are always coming in.

What would it feel like to have an empty in-box?  To some people this may create a scary feeling.  Maybe even unfold a fear.  The same fear people have when they avoid finishing reading books.  Authors show it by not finish writing a book or even books they start.  They fear there’s nothing on the other side when they are done and don’t want to let go.  This is ego talking.  Let me ask you, and you will need to get honest, “Does the amount of mail you receive an ego measurement?”  If you express to others how much email you get, then I guarantee ego is talking.

For a few minutes, let’s discuss the possibility of having a clean in-box every morning.  Okay, what is tightening in your body?  Possibly, it is appearing in your stomach, your face, or your back.

Is it your belief that it’s impossible to have a clean in-box because you’ve tried and failed?

Negative feelings are past beliefs showing their energy.  Until you let go of that belief new energy is unable to step in.  You are limiting the desires you want to attract.  Each e-mail is pulling your energy down – weighing you down like a swimmer with a ball and chain tied to their ankle.  Until you drown in e-mails.

The only way to uncover the beliefs that are pulling you down is to make it a goal to uncover their attachment.  The in-box is a great place to begin.  Quickly decide how important each e-mail is.  Let go of each one as quickly as possible.  Place the e-mails requiring a “longer than now” action in its appropriate folder and schedule it as a task.  If someone writes and their question or situation isn’t clear, toss it back to them to clarify; don’t try to figure it out.

An empty in-box will raise your consciousness.  Complete this new habit and see for yourself.  Trust that if the universe says you need it, it will again appear.  Probably in a different way but it will appear.  When you begin with choice, energy expands and overrides its historical negative energy.  It frees spirit and attracts more.

If you accidentally delete an e-mail, write and ask them to send it again or just let it go.  If it’s that important, they will send it again.  Don’t even blink about it.

Are you ready to make a change in your life?  Begin by making fast in-box decisions.  Unleash your power with quick and efficient decisions.  Trust your gut…and then watch new energy arrive into your life.

Clearing out e-mails works the same for clearing out your in-box at work.  Start each day with a clean in-box and creativity and productivity is guaranteed to flourish.  The universe always delivers more of what you desire when there is available space for it.  I’m sure you have felt this energy before create a friendship with it.  The friendship will ignite your desires.
